What is the Anti-Saberist Code? The *ASC* was originally posted here on lucasforums.com as a humorous response to this post, which in short sets up a bunch of artificial etiquette rules for -SC- (Saberist Code) proponents to follow in public FFA servers. While not a problem in this facet, the -SC- goes on to promote organized callvote-kicking of those who do not follow this specialized ruleset. In my opinion, the -SC- serves only to alienate players who enjoy regular FFA, and those new to the game, both of whom may be kicked simply out of ignorance. Many -SC- say that people wanting to play "vanilla" FFA can go find a server without any -SC- players, but if 5 -SC- players suddenly join the public FFA server that you're in, then by their rules you could get kickvoted out if you kill one of them outside of a formal duel. The *ASC* is nothing but a group of people who believe that being kickvoted out of a server because you don't want to bow before cutting someone in half, or don't want to use the Lightsaber as your only weapon, is cowardly and lame. There are onlytwo reasons to kick someone out of a server. One is if they are causing a technical difficulty such as text-spamming or lagging the whole system with a bad connection. The other is if they are causing an extreme disruption to gameplay through use of racial epithets, flaming, etc. *ASC* members generally don't whine about this or that Force Power or being shot with guns while in a saber fight. Personally, I accept that if it's part of the game, it's fair. I either figure out a way to counter it, or accept that you're just better than me--kudos. In short, the *ASC* might be more appropriately be named, "The Anti-Lamer Code". How do I join the *ASC*? Simple. Just add the *ASC* tag to your player name. That's it. You can use qtracker's (www.qtracker.com) player search feature to do a player name sub-search through all internet games to find other *ASC* members (or -SC- members if you're wanting to see first-hand what I'm talking about). |
